da apostaganha: As reported by The Mirror, West Ham United are interested in signing Anderlecht forward Lukasz Teodorczyk.
What’s the story?
da realbet: With the Hammers still not exactly free-scoring in the English Premier League, bringing another striker to the club is an interesting proposition for fans, even though they’re content with new signing Javier Hernandez.
One player the club are looking at is Lukasz Teodorczyk, currently plying his trade in Belgium with champions Anderlecht.
That’s according to The Mirror, who say that the Hammers even sent scouts to check on his progress in a recent UEFA Champions League encounter with Celtic.
With Liverpool also said to be interested, West Ham face competition but feel the time is right to make a bid, say the paper.
Rated at £11.25m by Transfermarket, he’d cost a fair amount but is well within the Irons’ price range.
Who is he?
A Polish international, Teodorczyk has a decent scoring record for his clubs so far, although he has yet to prove he can find the net in an elite league having only gained experience in Poland, Ukraine and Belgium so far.
His 30 goals last term for Anderlecht was a career high and it’s perhaps his contribution in the UEFA Europa League that interests West Ham most. He scored five in that competition, also providing the assist for the goal that saw the Belgians take Manchester United to extra-time at Old Trafford.
So far this season he’s struggled for form, scoring twice in 10 matches for a side struggling to repeat their title-winning success in the Belgian top-flight.
Given he is unproven at the top level, Javier Hernandez is likely a better option, but he certainly has a pedigree that would provide goalscoring depth to the Hammers’ attack.
