da dobrowin: Everton could take their spending to the £200m mark as they target three more signings, according to The Mirror.
What’s the story?
da betobet: The Merseyside outfit jumped out of the blocks when the transfer window opened, bringing in players to strengthen every area of the pitch.
So far, seven new faces have signed on the dotted line, but Koeman is not done yet, if reports are to be believed.
The Mirror claims that the Dutchman is determined to land £50m-rated Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City, as well as a striker.
Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud has been touted as a possible option, but it is not only the attacking areas that Koeman is focused on; he is also keen on recruiting another defender.
So far, the Toffees – backed by majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri – have spent more than £100m on players.
Are Everton going overboard?
The club have made the right call in strengthening as much as they have, particularly as three cup competitions, as well as the Premier League, loom.
Koeman is going to need a solid squad in order to challenge on all fronts and he has secured some decent buys.
So far, the club have brought in Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Henry Onyekuru, Sandro Ramirez, Michael Keane, Wayne Rooney and Cuco Martina.
The danger for Everton, though, is that if Koeman signs too many players it could take time for them all to gel.
The competitiveness of the Premier League does not give teams much time to find their feet.
In addition, with plenty of arrivals comes selection choices, and Koeman may not yet know what his best team is, particularly if he brings in players after the season has begun.
