da pinup bet: Sunderland fans were up in arms after yet another defeat on Tuesday night.
da luck: The club have now won just two of their 11 games under Phil Parkinson and it appears as though time could be slim on the ground for the former Bradford boss.
The Black Cats currently sit 11th in the League One table and can’t seem to shake off their concerning inconsistency under the new management.
Since Jack Ross left, Sunderland have been in a downward spiral but a whole host of fans think that former striker Kevin Phillips could be the man to save them.
Their sentiments came after Michael Gray posted the following tweet.
Phillips played 145 times for Sunderland during his career and also scored 63 goals in the process. A cult-hero at the Stadium of Light, many supporters think they’d be far better off with him at the helm.
One commented that he could have given the place a lift while another said the ground would be packed out if he walked through the doors. A further individual made reference to the jobs Lee Bowyer and Joey Barton have done at a similar level.
The ex-forward revealed last month that he had been in talks to replace Ross.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
