da cassino online: With Andre Villas-Boas sacked, and Jose Mourinho house hunting in the Chelsea area, the rumours about a return to Stamford Bridge for the Special One have gone into over-drive, but would a return to Chelsea be the right move for Mourinho?
da bet7: Returning to a scene of former glory is always difficult, with memories still fresh of Chelsea winning six trophies during Mourinho’s four year reign at the Bridge, fans would be expectant for those times to return. However, the league is different now compared to Mourinho’s previous reign, Manchester City are now the dominate club in terms of spending power, and even eclipse Abramovich’s early spending at Chelsea.
Manchester United has been going through a rebuilding phase and still managed to win the league, they have been able to bring through young talent and still win. In August when United beat Arsenal 8-2, the average age of their starting eleven was just 23, six months younger than Arsenal who are renowned for having young players in the first team. Not to mention the emergence of Tottenham Hotspur as a major threat to the league and European places, the days of a two-horse race are over and to win the league now is a lot more difficult than it was five/six years ago.
Chelsea were supposed to start that rebuilding phase under Villas-Boas, but for a number of reasons, including the fact that older players weren’t moved on for younger talent, meant that the rebuilding stalled and Villas-Boas got the sack. Apart fromPorto, Mourinho has managed clubs were talent/money is available for him to bring the best players in; he wants success and doesn’t want to wait for it (much like the fans).
Howard Kendall had huge success at Everton during a six year reign, in which he won the League championship twice (1985 and 1987) the FA Cup (1984) and the European Cup Winners Cup (1985), a trophy cabinet which isn’t too dissimilar to Mourinho’s at Chelsea. He returned three years later in 1990 just before the sky revolution and only managed to take Everton to the FA Cup quarter-finals, leaving them a mid table team at best before resigning in 1993. Would the memories of Mourinho be tarnished like Kendall’s if Chelsea didn’t return to the top of the Premier-League?
The Premier League has changed and with Abramovich spending money on hiring and firing managers rather than players, it may be a more difficult job than anybody could ever imagine.
